What a lucky guy I am when Mrs. Susan Elliott called me about escorting her daughter, Kelsey, and her eight girlfriends on Kelsey’s birthday celebration tour of three fabulous wineries and lunch at the famous Mustard’s Restaurant;( Click here -> www.mustardsrestaurant.com/ ) all located in Napa Valley, California. And, I’ve got to tell you, everywhere we went, bus drivers, limo drivers and other patrons would come up to me to comment something like, “How did you get picked to be surrounded with such lovely girls?” I would just respond that it was because of my good looks and charm! Well, nobody bought that, so I then told them that I was just lucky! To show you what I mean, here they are below:

Appearing to be resting her head on mine is Alex Howard. To your left of me, in the middle, going right are: Sarah Hillier, Anna Owens, Holly Sisson, Stephanie Roy, and Sam Mullins. Kneeling in front of me, from the left, are Natalie Pifer, and Megan Moore. The picture was taken by the birthday girl, Kelsey, shown below with me.

After loading up the girls, we headed off to the first selected winery, Mumm Napa (Click here -> www.mummnapa.com/ )where the girls would sip sparkling wine.

They enjoyed the standard Mumm triple style tasters as well as experiencing the top of the line DVX.

Now, the DVX bottle comes with a neat little medallion that looks like a bracelet that women really like to wear while tasting this wine. He was a smart host as he went and got one for each girl.

I have worked at three wine tasting rooms with Mumm being my first winery tasting room job and I still knew some of the staff. I went to the gift shop and found some chocolate champagne-shaped corks for the girls to enjoy with their last sips of the DVX. You can see the foiled wrapped “corks” in picture below.

From here it was time for lunch and the girls were scheduled to be at Mustard’s (Click here ->
www.mustardsrestaurant.com/ ) in just 10 minutes but we were 15 minutes away. I don’t know how but I got them there on time!

The girls devoured their meals and now it was time to celebrate Kelsey’s birthday in the tradition way with a cake.

The next stop would be Groth winery (Click here -> www.grothwines.com/) .

When it was time to leave I asked the girls to bunch up by the fountain for a group shot and this is what they spontaneously provided for the camera.

Next stop would be the oldest winery (1878) on their itinery, Regusci, (Click here ->
www.regusciwinery.com/ ) which was originally named T. L. Grigsby’s Occidental winery. He was one of Napa’s earliest settlers and member of the “Bear Flag Revolt” which “captured” retired military leader, Mariano Vallejo, his brother and numerous other “Californios” in a failed attempt to make Alta California a totally independent republic. Just a short time later Mexico and the U.S. signed a treaty making California part of the USA.

At this winery the girls met a bunch of European young men who were quite overwhelmed with the young ladies - And, who wouldn't be?

Then they all moved outside to relax and get to know each other.

Soon the girls were ready to call the tour day over and retired to Kelsey's house. Below is a slide show of all the pictures of the photo journal including the grounds of the facilities visited.
